Shadow Aspect
Based upon the Jungian concepts of Tim Podesta's award winning ballet 'Shadow Aspect, my memoir of Mara Galeazzi OMRI focusses on her motivation to overcome personal challenges and illness to become, and maintain, her status as a world renowned ballerina.
Having trained at La Scala, Mara joined the Royal Ballet in 1992 where she performed in so many of the great classical ballets as well a numerous new and contemporary creations. Following her retirement in 2013 as a principal dancer with the Royal Ballet, Mara became a freelance ballerina and now performs worldwide.
Shadow Aspect will be completed by October 2019

Miami City Ballet
In October 2018 I was afforded the rare privilege of spending two weeks inside Miami City Ballet to follow principal dancers Rainer Krenstetter and Tricia Albertson as they prepared for the opening of Miami City Ballet’s season at the Arsht Theatre, Miami. This forms the basis of an ongoing book project about Rainer’s life as a dancer and within Miami City Ballet.

Rainer trained at the Ballet School of the Vienna State Opera. Following winning the Prix de Lausanne in 1999 he trained at the Royal Ballet School before joining the Vienna State Opera Ballet, the Berlin Staatsballett and then Miami City Ballet in 2014. Rainer continues to perform extensively in galas and guest appearance internationally.

As this project progresses I would like to thank Artistic Director Lourdes Lopez, and the staff and dancers at Miami City Ballet, The Arsht Theatre, The Balanchine Trust and those who have supported this work.

Face of Defiance
My portraits taken between 2014 - 2017 in the UK, USA and Senegal which sought to change the narrative about how survivors of female genital mutilation are portrayed. Exhibited in New York, Washington DC, Senegal, London and the National Portrait Gallery. Undertaken with with Dr Leyla Hussein OBE and with thanks to the Wallace Global Fund.
I volunteered to shoot the Ugandan Bridging A Gap Community Initiative in 2015. BAGCI feeds and helps educate the poorest children in the Kajjansi slums. I remain extremely grateful for those who were inspired by my imagery and funded this project for another 13 months.
