The stonemasons of Canterbury Cathedral are responsible, under John Crump, for maintaining the structure, history and future of this world heritage site. Stonemasonry is far more diverse than many may realise - drawing, creating molds, cutting and carving, creating huge blocks and delicate grostesques, and maintaining the existing structure. This project represents the eight-month journey I witnessed as the stonemasons restored the 16th century Christchurch Gate - the entrance to Canterbury Cathedral - last renovated in the 1920s.
